Ready-mixed concrete is produced in a stationary factory and is transported to the construction site by means of mixer trucks. Concrete being an old building material its success story did not start until the end of the Second World War and the ready-mixed concrete started to develop. Today, 85 % of the used concrete on German sites is ready-mixed concrete.

For the construction of single-family houses and industrial and administrative buildings, hydraulic structures as well as radio and wind installations ready-mixed concrete is important and often even indispensable. The concrete is produced regarding the quality surveys accordingly to the respective requirements of the tested recipes. Due to the arbitrary formability and adaptability of the concrete the planner has hardly any restriction concerning the shaping of the concrete.
